Emil Maslarski, technician turned entrepreneur all along. During the years, from 1994, he founded several start-ups within the sectors of import-export, sales, and distribution, dealing mainly with partner- firms from Japan, Holland, and Eastern Europe. Since young age Emil has passion for cars, not only for the driving experience, but also related to the engineering, design, power, and the art of automobiles.
Exploring each opportunity, he discovered the potential of recycling industry in Europe and worked as supplier of auto-catalyst for Johnson Matthey in Bulgaria. With establishing ReCat in 2008 Emil strikes a balance of his passion for cars coupled with his appreciation for nature. As a vivid mountaineer and outdoors-lover this business runs a wining-do-good formula.
The business of auto-catalyst selection and recycling is specific and involves highly technical approach, complex analysis, and challenging evaluation. Emil’s focus continues to be on improving the process’ logistics and effectiveness by providing relevant information and supporting both suppliers and clients to facilitate their tasks and streamline the process.
For automotive catalytic converters the catalyst core is usually ceramic monolith with a honeycomb structure. In small sizes, under 6”OD (outside diameter), the ceramic is usually more cost effective per piece than metallic. Yet due to difficulty in packaging ceramic and extra processes required the metallic total system cost often is more advantageous.
In applications where particularly high heat resistance is required the catalytic converter core is metallic foil monolith made of iron-chromium-aluminum combination.
In sizes larger than 6”OD metallic-core catalysts are competitive with ceramic and in sizes larger than 10” OD metallic’s have a lower cost
An oxygen sensor is an electronic device that measures the proportion of oxygen in the gas or liquid being analyzed. The most common application is to measure the exhaust-gas concentration of oxygen for internal combustion engines in automobiles and other vehicles in order to calculate and, if required, dynamically adjust the air-fuel ratio so that catalytic converters can work optimally, and to determine whether the converter is performing properly.
